What makes handball special for you?
Handball is a really fair sport. It’s always a special feeling to walk into the arena – especially in Germany. This closeness, this incredible atmosphere … That triggers something in you. Suddenly you’re no longer tired or with your head somewhere else. Then something happens to your body and you’re just in the moment. That feels really good.

What do most people on the pitch overlook that makes you who you are?
On the pitch, I’m more of a calm guy and not someone who constantly goes out with big emotions. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t have this site at all. It’s rare, but when the moment is right, it comes out for me too – and when there’s something to celebrate, I’m definitely on the dance floor.
Your tip for young up-and-coming handball players?
The most important thing is always to have fun. If you don’t enjoy it, then you won’t get far because you lack the drive. And something else is crucial: Listen to your coach!
