What makes handball special for you?

Handball is a very fast sport, everything follows one after the other. You have to make new decisions again and again and every decision you make then has an effect. You don’t have time to think long about what went wrong five minutes ago – it goes on and on. No one can rest, because that will be punished immediately.

What do most people on the pitch overlook that makes you who you are?

On the field, I learn a lot about speed and breakthroughs – the kind of handball game SCM is known for. Off the field, on the other hand, I’m rather calm. Emotions come up in handball, I can be loud and extroverted at times. In my private life, however, I am much more relaxed.

Your tip for young up-and-coming handball players?

I would say always have fun and joy. Because if you have fun, you also have motivation to go to training and then you want to do more. Otherwise, I think it’s important to have people you look up to – sporting role models, but also people who inspire and support you. In this way, you can set your own goals step by step, grow from them and develop self-confidence.
