SC Magdeburg will travel to the GÜ-Sport Hummel Cup in the Erzgebirge next weekend. The preparatory tournament is marked by the 100th anniversary of the EHV Aue – but Bennet Wiegert’s team does not travel just to congratulate them.

“EHV Aue is a club rich in tradition with a great handball history. Of course, we are happy to be part of the 100th anniversary,” says Magdeburg’s co-captain Matthias Musche. “From a sporting point of view, such a tournament is always a challenge. With SC DHfK Leipzig, there is also a derby opponent, so there will certainly be a good atmosphere. In addition, SG Flensburg-Handewitt is an absolute top team. That’s exactly the kind of game we need in pre-season to see where we stand and what we still have to work on.”

The GÜ-Sport Hummel Cup will be played from Friday in the Erzgebirgshalle in Lößnitz. At 5 p.m., SC DHfK Leipzig and SG Flensburg-Handewitt will open the tournament. The match between hosts EHV Aue and SC Magdeburg will kick off at 7.30 pm.

The finals will be played on Saturday. The match for third place starts at 1:30 p.m., the final for the tournament victory will be played from 4 p.m.

For SCM, the matches are the next important building block in the pre-season. After the victories against HSC Coburg in Halle and Corotop Gwardia Opole in Ilsenburg , the GÜ-Sport Hummel Cup offers the opportunity to gain further match practice at a high level and to further consolidate the processes in the team.

Those who cannot follow the tournament on site (tickets) have the opportunity to watch the games live on Sporteurope.tv. Both individual tickets (5 euros per game) and a tournament pass for 15 euros are offered.
