SC Magdeburg loses the semi-final against Bergischer HC at the Lidl Final4 on Saturday with 30:31. The reactions and statistics of the game.

BHC coach Markus Pütz: “That was a game on a knife’s edge. I’m proud of how we fought and defended, we showed playfulness – I’m very enthusiastic about that. That could have gone either way. That’s why it makes us super happy to have won here. That was great cinema.”

Bennet Wiegert: “Congratulations to the BHC for progressing. They absolutely deserved that with the course of the game today. That was very self-sacrificing from the BHC – on the other hand, we couldn’t counteract as we wanted. We didn’t convert our chances well and I’m not happy with that, of course. But we have to live with that today. I’m especially sorry for our fans and we want to give them something back tomorrow.”

Felix Claar: “We lose today against a team that was probably better. It feels like we’ve been one or two goals behind the whole game. We have far too much trouble attacking and have no flow. We hid too much and couldn’t get the ball moving. And the BHC does it damn well, especially on defense. They had a good plan – and although we fight hard, unfortunately it wasn’t enough for us.”
