“It’s good that the cup is back in Magdeburg”

Füchse coach Nicolej Krickau: “Congratulations to Magdeburg. That was a deserved victory. When you lose so clearly, you can’t be satisfied. Against Magdeburg you have to function in defence, everything else has to be right. That wasn’t the case with us. That was instructive and shows us what we can work on.”

Bennet Wiegert: “Berlin was here for the third time – that testifies to consistency. We are all the happier that we won here. That’s a bonus for us. I was impressed by what we got on the record here. This will to win, this conviction – that was strong. It’s clear that a team like Berlin doesn’t stop. But we didn’t let ourselves be unnerved. Nevertheless, we are going into the season humbly.”

Magnus Saugstrup: “I think that was a good game from us. We pulled through from the beginning. Berlin put a lot of pressure on after the break, but we stood firm and controlled the game. We kept running, played our game. That’s important for us – and the club. It’s good that the cup is back in Magdeburg.”

Albin Lagergren: “We controlled the game from the start. That was really good of us. We made very few mistakes. We were compact in defence, up front we took our chances – on the whole it was simply convincing. Now we are very happy about this title. I was still missing it in my collection and it’s been a while for SCM – so it’s all the nicer to have the Super Cup back in Magdeburg.”
