The next player from the YoungsterS squad will make the leap to the HBL: Left winger Pablo Lange will leave SC Magdeburg at the end of the season and join TuS Ferndorf for the 2026/27 season.

The 20-year-old has played for SC Magdeburg since his childhood and went through all of the club’s youth departments. Lange has been part of the YoungsterS squad since the 2023/24 season and has already gained his first experience with the first team at the same time. Not only did he make his Bundesliga debut, but he also scored his first goal in the HBL in June 2025 in the game against SG Flensburg-Handewitt. In addition, the left winger was in the squad when SC Magdeburg won the EHF Champions League in the same year.

YoungsterS coach Christoph Theuerkauf: “Pablo is someone who works ambitiously without losing his wit. He’s a talented young player who has made a great development with us in recent years. I always enjoyed working with him and looked forward to every training session with him. It’s a shame to see him go, but at the same time I’m of course very happy that he can now take the next step in his career. I wish him all the best for his sporting and personal future.”

Pablo Lange: “Handball has been the center of my life since I was four years old. I am very grateful to the youth department of SC Magdeburg that I was able to live out this passion here over all these years. From the minis to the youngsters – SCM has had a significant impact on my career. During this time, I was able to learn a lot and continuously develop. The experience in the Champions League and the Bundesliga was particularly valuable for me. I’m proud to have played for this club and to have worn the jersey. With the change, I now want to take the next step in my career and realize my dream of professional handball.”
