Home win against HSG Eider Harde in the last home game

Both teams started the game with a lot of speed and initially fought a balanced duel. As the game progressed, however, the YoungsterS were able to gain a lead and went into the half-time break with an 18-15 lead. Despite potential in defense and a red card against the goalkeeper, the YoungsterS also showed a stable style of play in the second half. In the final phase, the guests reduced the deficit to one goal again, but Magdeburg reacted quickly and pulled away again. A special highlight was set by Monty Kleinsteuber, who scored the 1,000th goal of the season for the YoungsterS with the 30th goal of the game.

Overall, the YoungsterS were able to reward themselves with a high-scoring victory in the last home game of the season. Coach Christoph Theuerkauf was also satisfied after the game: “We have scored in 12 of 15 home games. In 11 out of 12 even twice. The boys rewarded themselves again today. I’m proud.”

Afterwards, it became emotional again. Several players were bid farewell in front of the Magdeburg fans during the last home game: Monty Kleinsteuber, Mattis Heiß, Phileas Daniel, Leon Bahr, Niklas Döbbel and Pablo Lange. “I’m happy for everyone who takes the next step. I very, very much enjoyed working with them,” says Theuerkauf.

For the YoungsterS, the last game of the season is now coming up. On Sunday, May 10, the team is a guest at HC Eintracht Hildesheim.
