Final in the German Championship! For the A-youth of SC Magdeburg, the title is at stake on Friday. After the successful first leg in Kiel, the team of coach Aaron Hahn now faces the decisive game in the GETEC Arena.

Jano Filder, Burgdorf – and now Kiel. The A-youth of SC Magdeburg is currently on course for the German championship. On the way, both last year’s runner-up and the first of the North relay have been thrown out of the race. A convincing first leg against THW Kiel followed in the first final.

In the Ostseehalle in Kiel, SCM won 40-34 (18-16) on Sunday in front of 4190 spectators. After a balanced opening phase, the team gained a four-goal lead and was able to secure the victory despite the continued long close course of the game. The best scorer was Tim Thielicke with 16 goals – 13 of them from the seven-metre line.

“That was a very good first half. We start the game well, defend well, but miss one or two shots too many, so we only go into the break with plus two. Then Kiel comes close again, but we fight our way through it well. The calmness and focus of the boys were remarkable. That was really ripped off for my age,” coach Aaron Hahn analyzed.

The decision will now be made on Friday, 18:00 CET in the GETEC Arena. “We have another 60 minutes to play – and Kiel is still dangerous. If they get into a run, it will be difficult. Nevertheless, I believe that there will be an atmosphere in the GETEC Arena that will carry us. We’re going into the game with a good feeling. And when we have the Magdeburg fans behind us, it makes a lot of things easier for us.”

Tickets for the game will be available online from 5 May, 2 p.m. via the SC Magdeburg ticket shop. Admission costs €15.00 as usual, €5.00 for concessions. Remaining tickets will be sold at the box office. Admission is from 90 minutes before the start of the game via entrances 1 – 3.

For all those who cannot be in the hall: Sporteurope.tv will broadcast the game on pay-TV stream.
