Tim Thielicke signs professional contract with SC Magdeburg

Born in Biederitz, he has been playing handball since he was five years old and moved from his hometown to SC Magdeburg in 2021. Since then, he has played for all of the club’s youth teams on the Elbe. In 2025, he won the German championship with the B-Youth, followed by the title with the A-Youth this year.

In Magdeburg, the strong right-hander developed into a youth national player and won silver with the German U17 team at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Skopje last year. Now Thielicke will take the next step in his career in the Bundesliga.

Bennet Wiegert, SCM head coach and sporting director: “After Malte Elze, Tim is the second player we can bring up from the youth team to the first team this year. I am immensely pleased about this and it speaks for the good work and the close cooperation within the club. Tim has shown his talent again and again in recent years and has earned his way into the Bundesliga. With his tackling strength and his finishing ability, he brings qualities that fit well into our playing system. He is already very advanced for his age, but we will still build him up carefully so that he can establish himself as an integral part of the team in the long term.
