Thibaud Briet signs with SC Magdeburg
Thibaud Briet moves to SC Magdeburg
SC Magdeburg strengthen their squad: French international Thibaud Briet will join the club for the 2028/29 season and will take up the left-back position. The 26-year-old has signed a three-year contract.
Briet joins Magdeburg from HBC Nantes. The left back has been under contract with the French top club since 2019. After three years with the professional team of his hometown club Rouen HB, he developed into a French international at Nantes and made his debut for Les Bleus against Germany in 2022.
With HBC, Briet has won the French Cup twice, as well as the Trophée des Champions and the Coupe de la Ligue, and has reached the EHF Champions League FINAL4 twice.
SCM coach and sporting director Bennet Wiegert: “Thibaud is a young, dynamic player who already brings a great deal of experience at the highest level. With Nantes, he plays in the Champions League, with the French national team he has won medals – and his development is far from complete. On top of that, he is a genuinely great person. I am convinced that his athleticism, his impact on the court and his passion will bring new impulses to SC Magdeburg, and that he will fit very well into our playing system. I am looking forward to our time together.”
