It is often the people in the background who stabilize a team and give it support – and it is precisely in this area that Tim Zechel was an important part of the squad at SC Magdeburg. Now they are parting ways. We wish him all the best for the future!
Tim Zechel is one of those players who are easily lost in the public perception. Not because they don’t perform on the field – on the contrary – but because they usually fulfill their role quietly. Because they work in training without making a fuss and are there when they are needed, regardless of the playing time.
“Playing here at SCM has always been my big dream. To have experienced that – with this magnificent backdrop and this incredible team – makes me very grateful,” explains the pivot, who joined SC Magdeburg in the summer of 2024 after previously wearing the green and red jersey in the youth. Via stations in Hildesheim, Hanover, Essen and Erlangen, his path led him back to the Elbe.
Zechel not only brought sporting stability to the team, but also personality. Off the field, he is by no means a quiet observer, but a player who shapes team life with his humour.
From the coming season, his career will continue at TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, which will lead to a quick reunion in the Bundesliga. We are looking forward to it!
