Sebastian Barthold may have only been in Magdeburg for a year, but with his experience, but above all with his positive charisma, he has left a lasting impression.

As a replacement for the injured Matthias Musche, the Norwegian moved from Danish top club Aalborg Håndbold to the Elbe. He quickly proved his qualities on the left flank and helped the team both in the Daikin Handball Bundesliga and on the international stage in a challenging sporting phase. In the end, he not only won the German championship with SC Magdeburg, but was also in two Final4 with the team.

But what distinguishes Sebastian cannot be measured in goals alone. From day one, he exemplified professionalism, contributed his many years of experience and was an enrichment with his open, positive character. He always impressed with integrity and team spirit.

This was also shown by his farewell: “Many thanks to everyone who made my time here so special for me. Thanks to the players, the coaches and the office. Thanks to the fans, who have always supported us so outstandingly here. The decision to come to Magdeburg was exactly the right one. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss any of that.”

Now his path leads back to Denmark, where he will play for Mors-Thy Håndbold in the future. For the time together, we say: Thank you, Seb!
