After two years full of ups and downs, Manuel Zehnder is leaving SC Magdeburg. We say thank you and wish him all the best for the future!

A quick step, a forearm throw – Manuel Zehnder has often proven his qualities after his signing in August 2024, after he moved from ThSV Eisenach to SC Magdeburg at short notice as HBL’s top scorer. With his dynamism in one-on-one, his power from the back and his drive to the goal, he set impulses early on in SCM’s attacking game.

But then the now 26-year-old was set back by a serious knee injury. Despite the long and difficult road, he worked with great ambition on his comeback and returned to the handball field after a year; first with the national team and then with the club.

“The years in Magdeburg were not the easiest, but probably the most successful. I have met many great people here and experienced beautiful moments. Thanks to this hall and these fans – it was always a lot of fun to play here. I’m going to miss that!” said Zehnder as he said goodbye.

The Swiss international wants to open a new chapter in Denmark at GOG in the future. We wish him all the best for his future career in Denmark – and as we all know, we see each other more often in handball.
