After the home game is before the away trip. On Saturday, SC Magdeburg will be challenged by the Füchsen Berlin. The duel between Champions League winners and German champions once again promises to be explosive.

It is the repeat of last season’s Champions League final, the clash of runners-up and champion and a match that will probably demand a lot from both fan camps. Because when SCM’s game against the Füchsen kicks off at 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, excitement is inevitable.

Of the last five games, both sides were able to report two wins each, once it was a draw at the end. “We have a difficult away game ahead of us. This is a direct competitor for the places in the table,” says SCM coach Bennet Wiegert. “But of course we’re looking forward to it – that’s how it should be. I hope that many Magdeburgers will find their way to the hall to support us. It’s sure to be a great game with a great atmosphere.”

Overall, both teams went into the new season largely unchanged and can build on a well-rehearsed squad. However, since Thursday, the Berliners have no longer been led by Jaron Siewert, but by Nicolej Krickau, who was already coach of SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the Bundesliga in 2023/2024.

Meanwhile, not only the two best German teams, both of whom have won their two games so far, will meet each other, but also the currently most successful shooters in the Daikin Handball Bundesliga: Magdeburg’s Omar Ingi Magnusson with 23 goals, 10 of which were seven-metre goals at a rate of 88.46 per cent and Berlin’s Mathias Gidsel with 17 field goals at 68 per cent.
