Game four, win four! SC Magdeburg remains unscathed in the Machineseeker EHF Champions League and wins at GOG in Svendborg, Denmark with 39:30 (18:16).

It was a picture that SCM fans can only like: Gisli Kristjansson ran towards the opponent’s cover, made a wobble and thus seemingly effortlessly created a gap for herself, which was used for the successful finish. In this respect, the start could hardly have gone better. After five minutes played, SCM led 2-0.

But then the hosts came into the game better, especially goalkeeper Peter Johannesson, who took several shots away from Magdeburg. The defense against the seven-on-six of the Danes, who once again patiently played out the outnumbered situation, was also problematic. GOG gradually came closer, equalized in the 16th minute to 8:8 and made it 12:13 in the 25th minute. Nevertheless, SCM was ahead again at half-time. Because the team around coach Bennet Wiegert stepped up. In the 30th minute, two balls in a row were intercepted and netted to make it 18-16.

Elvar Örn Jonsson and Felix Claar rang in the second half with two goals, so that the lead increased to 20-16. GOG initially played along with the tempo – seven goals were scored in the first five minutes after the restart. But then Magdeburg pulled away more and more (28-23, 43rd). The reason for this was a higher effectiveness, but also the support of Matej Mandic between the posts.

SCM continued to extend the lead until the end. In the 51st minute, Omar Ingi Magnusson scored to make it 34-24 and Magdeburg finally made the lead in Group B of the preliminary round perfect with the victory.
