SC Magdeburg loses at MT Melsungen

The first few minutes already showed: Melsungen had set their sights on something in their home hall. The hosts played a fast ball offensively and created challenges in defense with their physicality. The result: Magdeburg was 5-1 down after five minutes played.

Matthias Musche scored first from the penalty line, then from the left wing and reduced the deficit to 3:5 (8th). On the other hand, however, the resistance remained strong. Again and again, SCM went into the duel, the physicality was always noticeable. Another problem: Their own number of mistakes was unusually high. After a good 23 minutes, the deficit had grown to seven goals (8:15) and the full Rothenbach-Halle did the rest to heat up the atmosphere.

SCM fought its way into the game after the break. More mobile on the defensive and in attack with more drive to score, the green-reds were able to reduce the gap. Felix Claar scored the 17-20 (34th). However, the upswing did not last long, there was still a lack of access. Magdeburg had to invest hard for every goal, Melsungen, on the other hand, remained high in effectiveness.

After three quarters of an hour played, the scoreboard reported a 22-29 score and although Magdeburg fought back (34-31, 57th), they did not manage to turn the game around again until the final whistle.
