SC Magdeburg scores its first points in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain. In front of almost full stands, there is a green-red party. The reactions and statistics of the game.

PSG coach, Stefan Madsen: Of course we’re disappointed, but sometimes you have to accept that you’re playing against very, very good teams. We managed to do that today, and my feeling now – I have to watch the game again – is that we’re not that far away. We make small mistakes on and off the pitch and they are punished. Of course, we have to be a bit disappointed about the next few hours, but I’m also trying to see the whole thing in the big picture.

SCM coach Bennet Wiegert: There are always things that can be done better. But I think that even today, after a bumpy start with the half-time lead, it will become more and more stable. We simply found solutions, even if it was a bit difficult for us, against the sometimes unusual style of Paris. I had the feeling that we had to find our way into the game – with the right distance against backcourt throws and the circle runner – the better we did that, the more we got going. We had a fantastic, fast-paced game in the first half. It’s a shame that we couldn’t keep it up. But our defence is getting better and better – with Sergey Hernandez at the back. Of course, winning is the most important thing, especially against a team as strong as Paris.

Felix Claar: It feels really good today. The atmosphere in the arena was fantastic. We have the first points in the Champions League, what more could we want? Of course, it always goes on, we want to win every one of the next games. But today was a good start. We controlled the game from the start – apart from the first 15 minutes, when it was a bit closer. But then we were always in front.
