Szeged coach Michael Apelgren: “Congratulations to Magdeburg, that’s very deserved today. We were in the game, but SCM is picking up the pace and taking advantage of the fact that we are missing some players. They do that really well. My boys fought and showed that they want to win. Maybe they were a bit tired at the end, but we put in a performance that we can build on next week – if we don’t miss too many chances.”
Bennet Wiegert: “I don’t know if it was perfect today. There is no such thing in handball. That’s a sport of mistakes. But we didn’t make many mistakes. Now we’ve played a good first half – and we have to show the same thing again next week. Fight again, give everything again so that we can reach our goal of Final4 and go back to Cologne.”
Felix Claar: “It feels very good right now. A perfect result in a game that was really important. We found our way into the game well and our plan worked. Now we’re happily returning to Magdeburg and want to build on today’s performance.”
Matej Mandic: “We played really good handball today. Have convinced from the beginning to the end, have remained in our system. In the second half, we stepped up again and took advantage of their mistakes. Now we have to keep our focus and convince again next week in Magdeburg.
