Eleventh win in a row! In the Daikin Handball Bundesliga, SC Magdeburg also wins the game at the Rhein-Neckar-Löwen. In Mannheim, the final score is 33:30 (17:13) for the already determined German champions.

In the Mannheim SAP Arena it started energetically. Both teams relied on the pace, so that the statistics showed a 3-3 draw after five minutes played, and SCM was already ahead 6-4 in the ninth minute. While Sergey Hernandez initially watched the action from the bench in his 100th HBL game, Matej Mandic made a name for himself with several good actions in the Magdeburg goal.

Lukas Mertens increased to plus three (9-6, 15th) and although the hosts improved after that, coach Bennet Wiegert’s seven kept the upper hand. In the 22nd minute, Felix Claar scored to make it 12-9, Omar Ingi Magnusson made it 13-9 (24th) shortly afterwards and Magnus Saugstrup scored the 16-11.

After the interval, the feature film continued. Mertens played the ball to Albin Lagergren in the throw, who sank via Kempa to make it 18-13.

Mannheim fought back (23-20, 42nd), but within a very short time SCM had pulled away to five again (26-21, 44th). The lead did not change much in the final phase. Matej Mandic scored in the 51st minute first to make it 29-24 and then 30-24. Since the 23-year-old continued to set his impulses in goal in cooperation with his defense and the attack on the other side continued to score, another victory was recorded in the end despite the Lions rebelling again (32-30, 59th).
