Oskar Vind is excited for his first friendly game

Oskar Vind, the new right winger for SCM, talks about his first days in Magdeburg. “The first days were good and busy,” he says. “It can be hard to get used to a new country, city, team, and daily life. But it is also exciting. I am happy to start this new chapter with SCM.”

He feels the players at SCM are very good. “The players here are some of the best in the world. They are also kind and helpful. They have taken good care of me,” Oskar explains.

Oskar has joined four other new players this season. He is 23 years old and from Denmark. He has started to learn more about the city too. His favorite places are the Elbe River and the parks. “When I moved, my parents came with me. We borrowed bikes and saw many parts of the city,” he says. “We rode bikes along the river. Magdeburg is a beautiful and green city. I like it a lot.”

Friendly games coming soon

Now, Oskar’s focus is on playing. The first test game will be on Wednesday in Halle. SCM will play against HSC Coburg 2000 at 17:30 CEST. You can watch the game live on volksstimme.de.

HSC Coburg ended ninth last season in the second division. Their coach, Anel Mahmutefendic, wants to finish in the top five this year. In their first friendly game, Coburg lost 23:39 to ThSV Eisenach.

Oskar says, “I am really looking forward to the game. It’s always fun to play matches. The first game of the season with a new team is special. We train hard to compete with others.”

The second friendly game is on Saturday. SCM will play Corotop Gwardia Opole from Poland at 3 p.m. You can watch it live on volksstimme.de.

In this game, Oskar will see an old friend. The coach of Opole is Bartosz Jurecki. He played for SC Magdeburg for nine years. Bartosz is very famous at SCM and is in their Hall of Fame for his hard work.
