“We gave it our all, and it paid off”

THW coach Børge Lund: “Congratulations to SCM.
That was a deserved win.
They played very well.
Magdeburg got better and better, while we lost our rhythm a little.
Then we did not get the chances that we usually have.
In the second half, our defense was not as good.
The momentum was not with us today.”

SCM coach Bennet Wiegert: “We are very proud and happy to have played a game like this here.
The energy was fantastic.
How the arena inspired the team was a strong connection.
Also, from the start, we defended steadily and aggressively.
Kiel gave us problems at times – but we went confidently into the second half and kept going well.
We kept winning the duels.
Being able to dominate THW in parts is not normal.”

Oscar Bergendahl: “We were incredibly good today because we played very strong all 60 minutes.
The defense worked well and we gave everything.
That paid off – both in attack and defense.
Both goalkeepers also did a great job.
And the fans – that was just fantastic.
The atmosphere is something special.
It was even louder than usual.”
