Bennet Wiegert’s team played against a strong Wetzlar team right from the start. Wetzlar is a team from Central Hesse. They needed every point to stay in the league. Wetzlar kept up with SC Magdeburg’s fast pace. They ran back quickly and put pressure on Magdeburg’s middle players.

After five minutes, the score was 4 to 5. Magdeburg did not get upset. Albin Lagergren and his teammates kept fighting. They tried to find openings or earn penalties. Daniel Pettersson scored, making it 9 to 8 in the 14th minute. This gave Magdeburg the lead.

Wetzlar stayed a tough opponent. Even with fast plays and hard work, the score was close at halftime: 17 to 17.
