When Hernández moved from Benfica Lisbon to the Elbe, he was not the main player. He joined a team with very good goalkeepers. The team played for big prizes in the country and in international games. Hernández had to learn a new role. The new league was very hard and he had little time to get used to it.

Slowly, Hernández became a strong part of the team. He can change the game with his fast reactions and strong feelings on the field. He showed great mental strength, especially in close games. Many times, he made great saves, helped the team play faster, and even scored goals himself. No other goalkeeper did this like him.

Hernández was also important off the field. He was open, emotional, and full of energy. This helped the team feel good inside. Now, the 30-year-old player is going back to his home country to play for FC Barcelona.

He said, “It’s not easy for me to leave this club. Thank you for this great time. Thanks to the city of Magdeburg – for me, this is the capital of handball. I will never forget you and always carry you in my heart.”

This is not a goodbye forever. In the future, Hernández might play again in the Champions League against his new team.
