Sergey Hernandez is Nominated for MVP of the HBL

Yesterday, Sergey Hernandez signed the city’s Golden Book with the whole SC Magdeburg team at the Old Town Hall. Today, he has another reason to celebrate.

He was chosen as a nominee for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the season in the Daikin Handball Bundesliga. The MVP is the best player of the season.

Sergey Hernandez is a goalkeeper from Spain. This season, he saved 295 shots on goal. His save rate was 30.44%. This means he stopped almost one third of all shots on target.

He reacts very fast and made many important plays. He often helped his team win close games.

One more interesting fact: Hernandez scored 18 goals. This is the highest number of goals scored by a goalkeeper in the league.
