Happy 40th, Bezo!

Bezo was born on June 26, 1986, in Ptuj, which was then part of Yugoslavia.

When he was 18 years old, he joined his first club called RK Jeruzalem Ormoz. He played there for four years.

After that, he moved to another club called Gorenje Velenje. He helped them win the Slovenian championship in 2009, 2012, and 2013.

In 2013, when it was clear that Stian Tönnesen, the club’s best player, was leaving, SC Magdeburg signed Bezo. He is 1.84 meters tall and plays as a backcourt player. He was known as a gifted playmaker. (A playmaker is a player who controls the game and helps the team score.)

From 2016 to 2023, Bezo won many titles with SC Magdeburg:

  • The DHB Cup in 2016
  • The EHF European League in 2021
  • The IHF Super-Globe, which was the first time in the club’s history they won this trophy
  • The German Championship in 2022
  • Another IHF Super-Globe win in Saudi Arabia

On the last home game of the 2022/23 season, his number 25 jersey was hung up under the roof of the hall. This means he was honored and added to the SC Magdeburg Hall of Fame.

A few days later, Bezo won the EHF Champions League in his last game with the team.

After leaving Magdeburg, Bezo played one year for RK NEXE Nasice in Slovenia. Then, he went back to Germany for one season to help HC Erlangen.

He stopped playing after the 2024/25 season and ended his active career.

The SC Magdeburg family congratulates Bezo and wishes him all the best!
