Victory in the Top Match: Magdeburg Wins Against Füchse

The GETEC Arena was full and very lively before the game started. The hall was full of green and red colors. Fans showed their support with a special fan choreography. Everyone was excited because it was the first home game of the season.

The game started fast. In the 4th minute, Gisli Kristjansson scored the first goal, making the score 2-1. One minute later, he scored again for 3-2. Matej Mandic did a great job as goalkeeper. He helped keep the Berlin team from scoring more than two goals in the first ten minutes.

Both teams played well. Lasse Ludwig helped Berlin to keep the score close. In the 10th minute, Matthias Musche scored from the seven-metre line (a close shot). Then, Albin Lagergren scored to make it 5-2 in the 12th minute.

Mandic and defenders Elvar Örn Jonsson and Magnus Saugstrup played strong defense. Because of this, Berlin used a special move with seven players on the field. This helped them catch up. At the 27th minute, it was 9-12.

But Magdeburg kept trying. Before the break, they reduced the score difference to 13-14. During this time, Berlin’s Frederik Simak got a red card. This means he was sent off the game after a foul.

The second half stayed exciting. Both teams fought hard in defense and attack. Magdeburg had one big advantage: their own fans cheering for them loudly. In the 35th minute, Magdeburg took the lead again at 17-16.

Kristjansson scored important goals to make it 19-19 and then 22-19 by the 40th minute. Daniel Pettersson scored 23-19, and Kristjansson scored again. The crowd was very happy and cheered a lot. Magnus Saugstrup scored a goal to make it 26-20, and fans cheered even more.

The game stayed fast until the end. Even though Kristjansson got a red card in the 53rd minute, Magdeburg kept playing well. They won the game and gained two more points. The green and red fans were very happy to celebrate.
