Last year, no one thought we would win, but we did,” Felix Claar from Magdeburg said about last year’s big win. “It was amazing. Getting to the final weekend with many good teams from Europe is great.”

After playing very well in the group stage and winning the quarter-finals against Pick Szeged, Bennet Wiegert’s team is going to the Champions League final tournament. Now, they want to keep playing well and do even better.

On Saturday at 3 p.m., Magdeburg will play against Füchse Berlin in the semi-finals. You can watch the game on Dyn, DAZN, or DF1. The two teams know each other well. They have played two tough games this season, and Magdeburg won both times. But Füchse Berlin, who won the DHB Cup, is also very strong and wants to win the title again.

Claar said, “This game is like last year’s final. Everything must be perfect. We have played well, especially winning the German championship this year. That helps a lot. But it will still be a hard game. We must play fast and keep a high speed.”

For SC Magdeburg (SCM), this is their fourth time in a row playing at the EHF FINAL4. They have won three titles before: in 2002, 2023, and 2025. They hope to win the trophy again this year and bring it to Magdeburg.

Coach Bennet Wiegert said, “We look forward to the weekend and the special feeling in Cologne. Playing there again is very special. Every team wants to win. We have confidence from playing well all season. But the games will be difficult. We need a perfect weekend in Cologne, and that is what we want.”
